Need Financial Aid? Click here.

Our financial aid philosophy is take what you need and give what you can. We recognize that there are economic hardships, and we want to be accessible to all, so we ask that you pay whatever it is that you can.

The more you can pay, the more children we are able to extend aid to. Before you request financial aid we ask families to consider if there are family members or friends who might help provide a scholarship to your family for this program.

While nobody has ever been turned away for lack of funds, our ability to accommodate financial aid requests rests on the strength of our program enrollment and the generosity of the individuals, businesses and foundations that partner with Wild Earth to make financial aid possible.

We're in this together! Many of us are stretching ourselves to make sure that cost doesn't get in the way of anyone playing, exploring and learning in nature.

How to ask for aid–

Requests for financial aid are processed alongside your registration. This enables you to reserve a space in the program while our team is reviewing aid requests. Register now and reserve your space in Mother’s Day Weekend Paper-Making Workshop today.

Mother’s Day Weekend Paper-Making Workshop

Making Paper from Recycled Materials and Naturally Grown Fibers

Wild Earth and Women’s Studio Workshop invite mothers and their children to join us for an afternoon in the Women Studio Workshop’s paper-making studio.

We will show how you can easily use materials from around the house to make truly homemade paper. You will also have the opportunity to make paper with pulp from plants grown right on the Women’s Studio Workshop Art Farm.

You will work with artist and papermaker Kasia Keeley to learn the basics of sheet pulling as well as some creative variations like making envelopes and embedding other plant materials into the papers.

Bring newpapers, notes, photos, and flowers from home to include with the recycled pulp or to embed in your sheets as you pull them.

Class is best enjoyed by children age 6 and over and the number of students is limited to 14 so sign up early!

About the instructor, Kasia Keeley:

Kasia Keeley is a printmaker and papermaker originally from Buffalo, NY who relocated to the area initially as an intern for the Women’s Studio Workshop. Once here, she expanded on her knowledge of basic papermaking to include alternative processes such as sculptural papermaking and pulp-painting, and dove deep into work with the paper fibers that are grown on the WSW Art Farm. She has assisted a number of paper artists in their own workshops as well as teaches with WSW’s Art –In-Education program and the Workshop Series at Western NY Book Arts Collaborative.
